The Galaxy S8 breaks 2 records

the Galaxy S8 will be, without a doubt, one of the 2 best (and best-selling) smartphones of the year. All those who have had the opportunity to play with him agree that Samsung has managed to reach the perfection in terms of hardware (except for the fingerprint reader) and has improved significantly in terms of software.

With his formal arrival in several markets and in particular its launch in the United States (see it in most of the countries of Latin America during May), the company has confirmed that the Galaxy S8 has broken all previous records of presales of its devices, surpassing even the dupla S7 / S7 Edge.

“The Galaxy S8 and S8 + are a result of that recommitment and the market has responded – with to more than 30 percent year-over-year growth in pre-orders versus the record pre-orders we had with Galaxy S7, making it our best ever.”- Tim Baxter, COO and President of Samsung America

and is that at the same time with the decision to simplify the choice variables at the time of purchase a S8 device comes loaded with technology) (fingerprint reader, reader of iris, facial recognition, Bluetooth 5.0, etc, etc), putting it in a range apart from all that there is on the market and encouraging a great interest on the part of the users.

However, all of that technology has its cost, and Galaxy S8 this has turned into the most expensive to produce, smartphone of all who are currently on the market.

Calculations of ISH Markit people, published a few days ago by Statista, estimate that the Galaxy S8 has a production cost of $ 307.50 for terminal (this cost does not include costs of marketing, transport, packaging and/or research and development).

This is 13% more than the Galaxy S7 Edge, 37% more than the cost of producing the iPhone 7 (although it is almost certain that the ticket will go up by 8 iPhone) and 50% relative to the costs of production of Huawei P9.

However, there seems to be reason to worry. Samsung will earn around USD 390-400 USD per terminal and if sales follow the rhythm that had these days not only Samsung will return to the top of the sales but you will see a significant increase in its operating earnings.

We hope to be able to tell you a little more than the device next week.
